Choose analytics around the work you need to do
Compare a focused revenue-attribution workflow with broader analytics platforms. Start with the questions, integrations and privacy requirements your business actually has.
Write the buying brief first
For a solo founder, a useful brief might be: which campaign brought paying customers, what did they do before checkout, and what can I improve next? A product team may instead need experimentation, feature flags or session replay. These are different requirements, and no one product is automatically the best fit.
Analytics by 5H3LL focuses on web traffic, campaigns, goals, journeys, AI referrals, optional payment attribution and authorised agent reporting. A Free plan covers one website with 2,000 events a month. Paid plans start at £3 with larger allowances and a full refund within 14 days of your first payment if you are unhappy.
Compare the implementation, not only a feature tick
Check how a payment becomes a revenue record, whether consent is required, how teams share access and what happens at the event allowance. Compare total usage and billing cadence rather than treating prices in different currencies as directly equivalent.
Read the DataFast comparison for overlapping workflows, or the alternatives guide for Google Analytics, PostHog and Plausible. Competitor descriptions link to their own documentation; this is a vendor-written guide, not an independent ranking.
Move without losing the old baseline
Keep your existing analytics while testing a consent-aware installation on a limited set of pages. Record your conversion definition, observation window and known gaps. Counts may differ because tools use different identifiers, filtering and attribution rules.
