Review partner campaigns with traceable links

Use a distinct link for each partner and keep analytics evidence separate from commission accounting.

The question to answer

Partner reporting is easier when you agree in advance on what a campaign represents. A tagged URL gives you a useful record of observed traffic and credited purchases, but it is not an affiliate network, a commission ledger or an automatic payout instruction. Your commercial agreement still defines what is payable.

Before you start

A naming agreement with the partner and permission to share the campaign.

Tracking and revenue attribution on your destination.

An external record of commission terms, fees, refunds and settlement dates.

1. Agree on campaign boundaries

Decide whether a name identifies a partner, a placement or a specific promotion. Record the intended dates and the commercial terms outside the dashboard before the link is used.

2. Create the partner link

Use the Affiliate or partner preset in the link builder. Use a stable partner identifier and a clear campaign name such as partner-a-autumn. Avoid personal identifiers or confidential contract information in the URL.

3. Test the handoff to checkout

Check that the landing page keeps the tags and your payment integration receives attribution metadata where consent permits it. If checkout occurs on another domain, follow the payment integration instructions rather than assuming the referrer survives.

4. Review traffic and payments

Use Campaign and Referrer to inspect observed visitors and credited revenue. Check refunds and unmatched payments in the relevant payment views. Record the report dates and currency when discussing the figures.

5. Reconcile before paying

Compare the report with your payment provider and the agreed commission rules. Account for returns, discounts and disputes. Make any partner payment in your normal finance process; this analytics connection does not execute it.

Worked example

A 20% commission on an agreed £250 basis would be £50. This example is a manual commercial calculation; the app does not automatically approve a commission or make a payout.

Check your setup

Each partner or placement has an agreed campaign name.

Revenue, refunds and settlement periods are reconciled.

Both parties understand that unmatched attribution can occur.

How to interpret the result

A shared link can be copied beyond the intended partner audience.

Last recorded source credit may differ from contractual commission rules.

Do not use one missing match as proof that a partner did not contribute.

Your next action

Create a short campaign register with the partner identifier, URL, dates and settlement rule before starting the next promotion.
