Connect organic-search visits to business outcomes

Review search-driven landing pages alongside goals and credited payments without promising unavailable search-query data.

The question to answer

Search content can take time to attract useful visitors. A page can be successful at answering a question without generating immediate purchases, while a comparison article may reach a smaller group ready to buy. Investigate the entry page and the visitor’s next action, rather than treating all search traffic as equally valuable.

Before you start

The tracker installed on your public content and conversion pages.

Goals or verified revenue attribution, depending on your outcome.

Search Console data if you also need search-query and impression reporting.

1. Isolate organic-search traffic

Select Organic Search in Channel for a stable reporting period. Keep branded search, informational content and purchase-focused pages in mind as different visitor intents.

2. Inspect Entry page

Open Entry page under the page breakdown to find the entrances associated with that search traffic. Review visitors and credited revenue using the same filters. Use Page separately when you want pages visited later in a session.

3. Read the next actions

Inspect Goals and journeys to see whether search visitors proceed to signup or checkout. An article that leads to a useful intermediate goal may deserve a different evaluation window from a pricing page.

4. Combine with query evidence

Use your search engine’s webmaster tools for impressions and actual search queries. The Keyword tab only shows keyword data supplied with tracked traffic; it cannot recover queries withheld by a search engine.

5. Review content changes over time

Update a page where the next step is unclear or the information is stale. Note the edit date and compare equivalent periods. Search ranking changes, seasonality and other campaigns can affect the result, so avoid attributing every change to the edit.

Worked example

The same conversion target need not fit every article. Agree on a useful action before publishing so an educational page is not judged solely by an immediate checkout.

Check your setup

Organic Search remains selected when comparing entry pages.

You distinguish search queries from campaign keyword parameters.

Content changes and comparison windows are recorded.

How to interpret the result

Missing referrers can place some search traffic outside the expected channel.

Revenue credit follows the recorded attribution rules, not a full causal model.

Analytics by 5H3LL does not supply search rankings or Search Console impressions.

Your next action
